Cuba Trip

Join us from December 26th, 2019 to January 7th, 2020 for the trip of a lifetime!
We will be flying as a group from Anchorage, Alaska to Havana, Cuba on the afternoon of December 26th, the day after Christmas, arriving Friday early afternoon in Havana.
From there, we will share our time between Havana, Cuba’s largest and most popular city, and the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, the birthplace of Cuban son. We will travel by land between the two cities, offering you an opportunity to view the beautiful Cuban countryside.
In Havana, we will be treated to classes with Yusi Angeles-Martinez, elite arts school graduate and prima ballerina of the famous cabaret “Parisien”, as well as other local professional dancers. We will also see the city and enjoy concerts, dance shows, and plenty of social dancing.
In Santiago, each day we will have dance classes with the professional dance company, Sabor DKY, directed by Cuban dance legend Yanek Revilla, with a professional Cuban dance partner assigned to each student in the course so you will learn and improve fast. Classes to include casino, salsa suelta, rueda de casino, afro, reggaeton, son, mambo, chachacha, and more. Percussion class options for those interested as well! Classes will be able to accommodate English speakers and a variety of dance levels, so do not worry about language or skill barriers.
We will also see Santiago de Cuba and its surrounding areas, including beautiful beaches, all while laughing and learning with our Cuban dance partners. Rumba and rueda on the beach are sure to happen!
In the evenings, we will go out social dancing as a group, enjoy dance shows by local dancers, and of course we will be celebrating New Year’s Eve a lo Cubano with a pig roast!
Throughout the trip, we will stay in select Cuban bed & breakfasts and eat in privately-owned Cuban restaurants. We’ll also partake in additional culturally-enriching activities such as seeing rumba and afro dancing and visiting privately owned art galleries. And of course, we will take you shopping at stores run by self-employed Cubans so you can pick up your souvenirs!
We will leave Havana on January 6th to return to Anchorage on January 7th at 8 pm, however we will sleep at a US airport hotel during the return trip, so you can get some much-needed rest and be ready to return to work on Wednesday, January 8th.
Round-trip airfare, visa processing, and the full-time program of dancing is included, as well as all private lodging and all meals, all transportation (yes, plenty of classic cars!), and all cover charges to events included. This is a trip in which you can simply relax and let Anaya Latin Dance navigate while you focus on learning and enjoying all that Cuba has to offer. Please do note that this itinerary is subject to changes of equal value and relevance in necessary circumstances.
The limit is 13 students for this trip of a lifetime to a dancer’s paradise! A more detailed schedule, pricing, and further information to be announced very soon!  In the meantime, get your passports up to date, start saving, and register your interest below:
